Farewell, John Hughes (1950-2009)

It has been said before and will be said many more  times to come, but for us “80s Babies”, John Hughes got it with a depth that we didn’t think adults possessed. Jay Smooth – Dance You Into The Sunlight (Michael Jackson Essay)

Jay Smooth (of IllDoctrine.com) is the gold standard for what “vlogging” should be. The guy mixes insight with wit, truth and information with entertainment in a way that humbles everyone else that calls themselves a commentator on pop culture.

Ruminations on Chaches

How do you spell chach?
As in, “That guy with the hemp necklace is a total chach.”
No matter how you spell it, I’m pretty sure it conjures up images of backwards hats and a thrilling game of cornhole. They originated on the campuses of community colleges, but have since migrated to my places, my bars, my coffee shops, my laundromats.  At first, they annoyed to me, which eventually grew into anger.  I’m not exactly why they angered me so badly.  I think it may have been their general lack of substance …

“I’m not a good writer.”

My girlfriend is excellent at it, and I’m assuming she knows all the hard work and God given ability that goes into it. But, apparently all it takes is being short, out of shape, and having unkempt hair.
